What Makes Us Different?

In a global market there are few remaining trade secrets that give one a strategic advantage. We have found one under-utilized secret that continues to give strategic advantage; it is unleashing the full potential of all people. We believe that to truly deliver step change, sustainable results in diversity and inclusion you must reach individuals at the heart level. Organizations have been making great progress in the field of diversity and inclusion, learning to unleash the power of all individuals within their organizations. But studies show that even the best organizations are still only capitalizing on 60-70% of the talent of their people.

Our unique, transformational workshops are designed to drive step-change, sustained commitment to diversity and inclusion from all individuals within your organization. These transformational workshops provide in-depth learning and focus on the role every one of us has in breaking down barriers, no matter who we are. We make inclusion not about “us” and “them” but about “all of us” and the role each of us plays in making the workplace a genuinely inclusive place to be. We move people beyond the practical understanding of diversity and inclusion to truly understanding at the heart level the powerful difference an inclusive workplace can provide.

Legacy's History

Legacy Unlimited’s signature program offerings, the “Women Supporting Women©” (WSW©) and “People Supporting People©” (PSP©) workshops, were created in 1991 within Procter & Gamble(P&G). WSW© and PSP© became P&G’s top corporate initiative in 1999 and continues as its top corporate initiative today. This initiative is designed to drive diversity and inclusion progress, leadership development, cultural change, and globalization and business success. P&G has spent $17million dollars on this initiative since 1991 and continues spending $1.2 million per year.

In 2005, the then Global Leader for these programs, Ms. Denise Andrews, left P&G to found Legacy Unlimited. Based on her extensive history and success with these programs, Procter &Gamble chose Legacy Unlimited to be the exclusive provider for delivering their breakthrough WSW© / PSP© courses externally.

Procter & Gamble’s research found that for every 1,000 people trained, they realized $45 million(USD) per year in savings. These savings resulted from participants’ improvements in productivity, more effective relationships with co-workers, improved retention, and risk reduction.

In addition they gained:

  • Deeper insights to meet local and global consumer needs
  • Improved innovation
  • Improved integration of acquisitions
  • Improved utilization, retention, and productivity
  • A stronger pool of diverse executives
  • Increased leadership mastery and passion to unleash personal and collective potential
  • More people positioned to be great leaders
  • Improved and sustained results

These workshops continue to see tremendous success and have now been brought to over 8,000 people in more than 103 countries. They have been successfully conducted in the United States, Canada, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Belgium, Switzerland, China, Mexico, Venezuela, Korea, Egypt, Poland, Lebanon, Morocco, Argentina, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Romania, the U.A.E, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Hungary and Brazil.

While WSW© / PSP© remain Legacy Unlimited’s signature offerings, we have now expanded well beyond these offerings to include a full complement of diversity and inclusion programs, leadership development, as well as consulting services.

Leadership Presence©

There has been initial work on global leadership development which has delivered mixed results. Desired recruiting, retention and advancement of diverse talent have yet to be realized. One area that has contributed to current leadership deficiencies is when organizations teach a specific leadership style versus unleashing leadership presence. That leadership style reflects specific, historically recognized western, male, military leadership characteristics. Today’s talent still comes from this historically important group as well as a much wider array of talent. All these talent pools are capable of leading and will be at their most effective state when they can blend natural strengths with requisite leadership skills.

Legacy Unlimited, working with Asian talent, discovered the misaligned coaching and development occurring by creating assimilation. Assimilation minimizes the power, performance and potential of the individual and the whole organization. Individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or personality, will be better leaders if they can lead from their natural strengths and preferences.  A mosaic of talented leaders, “full-on”, leading their organizations from their center, will result in more prosperous organizations. Leaders will also form deeper bonds and loyalties to organizations that recognize this strength and encourage them to bring their natural abilities and various diversity.

Legacy Unlimited has developed Leadership Presence© interventions that are centered in an individual’s personal characteristics and culture blended with the organization’s requisite leadership skills. Investing in Leadership Presence© will ensure that global leaders possessing requisite skills, will be developed and available to lead your organizations.

Interventions available are personal Leadership Presence © coaches and customized training and development sessions.

“If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place.”
- Margaret Mead

“Why not let people differ about their answers to the great mysteries of the Universe? Let each seek one's own way to the highest, to one's own sense of supreme loyalty in life, one's ideal of life. Let each philosophy, each world-view bring forth its truth and beauty to a larger perspective, that people may grow in vision, stature and dedication..”
