Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP)

The Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP) is one of the most substantial programs of TARANGO.  This program’s aim is to build competency among rural, disadvantaged women by starting and managing their own small businesses in order to earn additional income.

In co-operation with GTZ (German Technical Co-operation), TARANGO developed an entrepreneurship development program for non-literate women.  The training is based on the CEFE (Competency based Economics through Formation of Enterprise) approach and has been adapted and tailored to the Bangladesh environment.  This program, for non-literate women, is an experiential learning model.

TARANGO’s WEDP has been proven to be very successful.  Many women have now found a new income source by starting and running their own businesses.

This is a FANTASTIC store that caters to the individual!  It has GREAT customer service for shoe fitting, clothing decisions, sports equipment sizing or decisions, etc.  Deb Ernst (owner and operator) launched her website a year ago making her company available to a much broader audience than just to those who can walk into the store in Green Bay, WS.

People LOVE to shop at her store because the quality of her merchandise is better than your typical “super store” sports stores!

LaurEss was started by Lauren Sheahan of Minneapolis.  Lauren could not find cosmetics that matched her complexion (to her satisfaction), so she started making her own.  She spent two years in product research and development before launching her line and website a year ago.

Her “Kabuki Brush” is a foundation brush that feels like you are getting a face massage each day when you use it!

Megan Dey Farley is a professional photographer in NYC.  She creates GORGEOUS pictures of children and weddings.  She is very creative, thereby capturing candid, natural shots.

A new specialty of hers is creating scrapbooks; but not like the ordinary scrapbooks.  The pictures, themselves, are the actual pages of the books!

They are very popular gifts for anniversaries and birthdays.
